10 August, 2003 : Grahamio Sacked As Crowd Riots
Referee abandons game and awards points to opposition. Amid chaotic scenes today at Estadio Melancolia, home of world-famous Cruz Azul Bananas, Argentinian referee Kempes abandoned the game wihtout a ball being kicked. Half of Cruz's squad hadn't turned up for the game (as usual) but Cruz still had enough to start, but the lack of erect goalposts made that difficult. No farmers were involved, the problem came when angry Cruz fans stampeded the ground demanding Grahamio's sacking and breaking down the goal frames.

Grahamio wasn't there, dismissed midweek by Cruz Presidente 'Mucho' one day after the same issued the deadly 'vote of confidence'. Mucho was also missing, but the absent players were in the dark, as were the fans. "I would have showed up for once," admitted star player 'Cooler' Filipe, "had I known Grahamio was gone."

Despite the abandoned game, most fans were happy, bolstered by rumours that Mucho was on his way to London to persuade England coach Sven Go-on Erikson to make the switch back to club football with Cruz Azul. "Now we can build again, we have a field with some grass in patches, two broken goals and a few players left, that should be enough for a brilliant coach like S-Ven." said an excitable fan as she chased Adomaydis to autograph her hip.
