Technology Management:
Every year the technology that is relevant to a business changes, along with the jargon and confusion that delay good business decisions.
Client-server systems solutions have moved from big corporations into city businesses; new words, same issues. Use of ultra-thin clients, secure, servers roving access, deployment and legal/security issues are the issues I track, rather than specific and ever changing technology.
(Specific technology is not the issue - a specialist is always there - but a specialist may not spend time understanding user, client and company needs.)
Project Turnaround:
My troubleshooting background prepared me for agile thinking and very disciplined learning in new environments. Stress on Project managers and staff where a project is off course cannot be underestimated, and I mean that. Projects can be righted by attention, accurate communication and re-aligning technology and development to the perspectives of users and clients.
Innovative Shake-up? Or rational analysis? :
Brainstorming has become a household word, but it does not describe the actual discipline. Many companies I have been to have 'shaken things up' by re-organising... once... twice: New boss,... once again. Not always unuseful, but often beside the issues. A set of approaches together with clear communication will help effective and quicker change.
Method:
Or is it conviction? Every 'situation' is created by workplace interactions and decisions which can be repaired or redirected to good effect.
Through my experience I have developed, taught and shared all manner of methods: It's not mystique: systems, models, process, lateral thinking, hard analysis - these are the approaches that make things work. And each situation has to be treated differently and for what it is.
I solve issues related to the way people work together, as well as the technology issues. I look to improve the situation between people and process - communication gaps, inconsistent views, broken processes, and move things forward.
Agreement of task, and constant, accurate and consistent communication of each step is assured. I will guarantee outcomes against compensation.

Is it possible to preempt, and therefore avoid, most organisational and communications problems?
Perhaps not, but things could be considerably better than they usually are.
I have held workshops and seminars that have introduced ideas to help stop crises occurring in the first place.
Several of these ideas worked well, a few were less effective...
I've been working on closing those gaps (more to solve, more to do).
I am very interested in helping shape a new or re-invigorated organisation or project before it goes wrong...
How about a harmonious and effective set up from the get-go?
The next company I help with that project could be yours.
