I do have the capacity to cope with high stress in wide-ranging circumstances, and I appreciate the observation by others. Confidence and perspective play a big part in situations where things are veering out of control.
However, it is also easy to underestimate the value of systematic approaches, which I use and apply in most situations alongside any other insights.
In 'impossible' situations, reality is that it will be resolved. It takes experience and concentrated attention to details, as well as systems.
I was educated to use 'Structured' thinking and added 'Lateral' thinking in my study years, these disciplines remain vital for me.
From this basis, over the years, I have developed a solid core of models, processes and approaches which can be useful in many situations. Things need to be challenged and methods used to move things forward. Is concensus, for example, such a good thing? Usually, yes; but not if it's a forced or false concensus...
if there are reluctant people who may reject the concensus immediately they are outside a meeting...
Time permitting, I will outline some of these approaches to mediation, modeling (both passive and active), QA, Communications Efficiency,
Lateral Innovation and others, here at this page.
